New Year Eve In Hong Kong

Happy New Year to All of our Friends and Family out there!!!

Yes, that’s right, here in Hong Kong, it’s the 2010 already. It couldn’t be a better start for our journey than this one, first watching a bunch of marine mammals and Pandas in the Ocean Park (of course a separate post, full with the pictures will be posted as well) and finishing the evening at the Hutong restaurant, on the 28th floor of One Peking Road in Tsim Sha Tsui, at Kowloon’s side, probably the best spot on the island for the countdown and the fireworks view.

Still in Transit – Bangkok

Yep, we’re still on our way to to the first “Real” destination, this time the stopover was in Bangkok and of course it didn’t take us too long to realize how much did we miss the … Foot Massage !!! Luckily for us, there are at least 4 SPA’s in the International terminal alone, so after grabbing something to eat & drink at Cathay lounge we marched about one kilometer to one of the Chang’s Spa’s. Of course, once we’ve got there, we’d discovered that there was another Spa, on the forth floor in concourse G, which is just one floor above Cathay’s lounge and barely 100 meter away…, well, at least we felt good about ourselves, doing some walking after the 8 and a half hours flight.

How to pack for 8 months Round The World Trip?

Packing for a long trip? Trying to figure out how much of everything to take and how many pieces of luggage to take with you? Check-in \Carry-on  baggage indecision?

Well, we’ll try to help a bit here:
If you’re going away for more than a few weeks – don’t even try to take with you enough stuff for the entire trip! You will just end up pumping up your over weight and paying a lot for it for every flight and of course there’s no chance to take all the stuff you’ll need for the entire trip. Continue Reading…

How did we end up going for a RTW trip

Well, it looks like we owe you a story of how did we find ourselves kissing goodbye all our family & friends (well, not all, but a serious part of them…) and hitting the road (or the sky in our case) for our first Round The World trip.

So here comes the story:

As you probably saw in ‘About Us‘ page, we’ve got married at 20.08.2009. Before the wedding, we said that right after it – we should go for 1-2 months honeymoon. Eventually, we’d decided to postpone the trip a little bit, due to some projects that we were working on. In the meantime the plan had changed many many times and the first decision was made about the destination – Australia & New Zealand. Continue Reading…

RTW Tips

As promised, hereunder a few useful tips for someone who wakes up one day and decides to go for a Round the World trip.

First, and probably most important tip – buying RTW ticket can actually save you money, even lots of money if you’re planning it right. It sounds a bit strange, but that’s the truth, RTW ticket would typically cost less money then a regular ticket, especially if you are planning to visit 3 and more destinations on different continents. Where Are We Now?

If you’re wondering in what Time Zone we are right now or where you can meet us – please use the following itinerary.

There are going to be lots of changes in it, but this is the basic plan.

The part in Yellow marks our current location on the globe. Of course we’ll be spending most of the time traveling around and not sitting still in a certain location, but it will typically be within the same time zone. Continue Reading…

How do you plan a Round the World Trip?

So…

How do you plan it (the RTW trip, of course)? Well, as most things in life – you’re simply doing it step by step…

Step 1 – Make a “brave” decision to go for a trip.
Step 2 – Find yourself a partner (if you haven’t done so already), as it might be quite lonely to travel around the world all by yourself.
Step 3 – Set the main destinations and the general course between them. Continue Reading…
