Saying Goodbye To New Zealand

In the last 2 weeks or so we were actually sitting in Queenstown waiting for our delayed flight so we mainly worked, slept, ate and watch a lot of movies, but today we went out for a final good bye walk in this cute little town. Continue Reading…

Old Days in Arrowtown

With a beautiful day on our side and few hours to spare we decided to check out the local Arrowtown Autumn Festival event which was held in small old Arrowtown. The brochure promised live music bands, classic cars show etc.
Well, they did have all of this but it was mainly for older people or younger ones… (not such lively as we thought it would be). In any case, we did get to spend a couple of hours in this lovely town. Continue Reading…

Horse Riding in Paradise

If there is one thing we have been trying to do for a long time, it is the Paradise View horse riding in beautiful Glenorchy. Whether is was a bad weather or no spots available we always had some problems with it. Few days ago we were finally able to do this wonderful tour and we are glad to have done that. Continue Reading…

Mount Cook and The Clay Cliffs

Well, it has been a while since we last wrote and we still owe you some stories and pictures from the day after the jet ski and stargazing tour. So here goes: As Mt. Cook doesn’t have many accommodation options we spent the night in Twizel. In the morning we drove up to Mt. Cook and since we had a perfectly clear sunny day the road there was amazingly beautiful full with a blue-turquoise lake, snow capped mountains and other beautiful landscapes. Continue Reading…

From Jet Ski to Saturn and the Southern Cross

You’re probably wondering what these 2 (or actually – 3) have to do in common… While it might be easier to understand the linkage between the Saturn and the Southern Cross, it indeed requires a bit of imagination to connect the Jet Ski to it, so I’ll have to explain it a bit. Continue Reading…

Just A Perfect Day (To Jump Again)

We had such a perfect weather and such a great clear sight of any landscape yesterday that we just had to share with you few more beautiful pictures of the fox glacier area and the way back down to Wanaka. Actually it was such a beautiful day that it was a shame not to jump out of a plane (again) – so spontaneously (just 15 min. before the jump) when driving by Wanaka airfield, I have decided to go for it! Helihiking On The Fox Glacier

YES!!! We did it. We finally made it to the Fox Glacier and this time the weather was on our side (Thx for everyone who crossed their fingers). Tamar & Nir (whom we met on the Tongariro track) got us hooked on this trip – a helicopter ride that lands you on the top part of the glacier for a 3 hours walk to discover ice “waves” and caves. Continue Reading…

Dunedin’s Sweets, Wildlife & Landscapes

Chasing after the sun is not an easy task at autumn time in the southern island of NZ, yet somehow we have managed to get a glimpse of it in the last 2 days. With Dunedin being the only place with a sun over it in the weather map, we drove all the way there. It is a big city which has a great marine wildlife at its doorsteps and lots of other great views to offer. Continue Reading…

Wanaka Air Show

After getting back from Milford Track and resting a couple of days in Te Anau, we’d moved on to Queenstown and then reconnected with Shira & Itamar (whom we’d met on the track) in Wanaka and went together for the Air Show in the local airport. I’d managed to shoot over 800 photos in just a few hours, so this post is mainly for these of you who prefer just browsing through the pictures, rather than reading :) Continue Reading…

4 Seasons at the Milford Track

Yes, we did the Milford track. And yes, you bet we have tons of pictures to share with you.
Some of the people we’ve met before have defined it as a “walk in a park”… Well, I must say it was a pretty long and very wet park…

Of course, as you know me – it will take me a while to summarize a 4 day and almost 65 km (detailed distance calculations will obviously follow) track, so hope that I’ll be able to convey at least partly the excitement of it. Some tips are at the end as well. Continue Reading…
